Please see the following message from the Superintendent:
This is a tough call, especially with the current temperature, but the weather forecast for the remainder of the week has been constant for several days. Forecasters feel certain weather will hit us some time tomorrow; the question is how much at what time. The last forecast anticipates freezing rain from 6 am – 10 am tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, then taper off until later in the afternoon/evening. Temperatures are predicted to be below freezing beginning sometime tonight/early morning and not rise above any time tomorrow. Too many people could be impacted so we are going to use an AMI day tomorrow, Wednesday, February 2, 2022. This call is not made lightly but we want to keep everyone as safe as possible. We will make a decision about Thursday and Friday as we see how the weather impacts our roads and campus.
Remember, on AMI days assignments count for attendance so if assignments are not done and attendance is counted low the state could require us to make up the AMI days. This should be taken seriously; students need to submit their work.
Our positive Covid cases have declined so if that continues and our cases remain below 3% and quarantines remain below 10% we will discontinue masks. We will be checking numbers after today; an all-call will be made when the masks are no longer required.
