THE IMPORTANCE OF
READING ALOUD
Literacy has a significant impact on a child’s future success. Studies have shown that reading aloud to children helps them listen better and longer, build bigger vocabularies, and feel positively about books and learning. Reading to children also strengthens the emotional bonds between the adult reader and the child, providing positive adult-child connections that are essential to a child’s psychological health and academic growth.

Parents, as we enter basketball season, please note these important game night rules. Thank you for helping keep the students safe!

We will be starting a new book next week! Book title will be announced Friday!

Reminder Flu Clinic tomorrow! Be sure to bring your signed form if you have not already turned it in.

WOW! We are so proud of our Scotties for moving up another level in Lexia this week.
Keep up the great work!
"Students have the opportunity to accelerate beyond their grade-level skills, as they are given the ability to demonstrate proficiency in each skill area and are advanced to the next level in the program if no instruction is needed. For students in need of extra support, Lexia provides a level of scaffolding. If the student still struggles, the program provides explicit instruction on the concepts and rules of the skill, allowing the student to demonstrate proficiency and then return to the scaffolded level and standard-level activities. Personalized instruction ensures that students receive the appropriate intensity and support to acquire the skills they need to become proficient readers." ---https://www.lexialearning.com/why-lexia/our-approach/personalized-learning-model
